If you get a chance to visit Essex Record Office it is brand new, masses of facilities, no need to book in advance and free of charge. It's a real example of how it should be done.

Please note that the spelling should be Abridge. Essex record office is at Chelmsford, but I am not sure what information you will be able to view from this period. Check out the Essex county council website on www(.)essexcc(.)gov(.)uk - remove brackets as usual - links from there to record office. Maz. XX
