Hello Patricia - you did offer to look up some old relatives of mine in Canada? My great aunt LILY QUIRK (nee King) was a Nottingham girl who I think married a Canadian - her address was 766 Curry Street, London, Ontario - she might not have been there in 1901 - I'm not sure when she left - might have married a Canadian - I need some info on her to be able to trace her sister (my grandmother) who is proving to be very elusive. grt aunt Lily's daughter and hubbie were Mr and Mrs R Pawley, 39 Hydro Street, London, Ontario - they are probably all long since dead but any info you might come across would be something to have a go at. Thank you so much - I know it must seem strange having to start in Canada to find info.on your grandmother who never left England during her lifetime - but it's my only hope. Hope it wont be too much trouble. Jacqui

you can see the actual canadian census if you go to the links from this site to free census directory, then canada 1901, then you can search an area but not a name. be prepared to get headache! you have to keep zooming in and its not very clear, looks like a photograph of the actual document, but i coppied out a full page of it. i hope this helps

Hallo Jacquie If you can't find your rellies on what has been transcribed so far (at www(.)automatedgenealogy(.)com then microfilm is really your best bet. If you would like to give me some information I will look for them the next time I'm at the library. A copy of the page or entry is only 25 cents which I can then fax/scan to you. Patsy

I may be thick - and goodness knows most people think I am - but I cannot make head nor tail of the Canadian Census. Have relatives over there in London Ontario - grannie's sister and her hubbie and subsequent family and have "old" addresses but still cannot find my way around the site. Any pointers to help? Sandra, Does the census form say "age next birthday" or "age last birthday"? That may account for the difference. Patsy (Calgary, Alberta)

i have looked at the census for 1901 and found the people i wanted to find but all their dates of birth are 1 year before the birth year on their grave. does anyone know why or which date will be the correct one?
