......and another piece of advice.....well, two actually..:))

You can try putting the name you are researching into the search trees box above to see if anyone else on this site is researching your family. If you find a connection, you can contact the tree owner.

Also, why not start a thread of your own? Take a look at the first post on the Trying to Find board for further advice. Regards. Cx.

Maurice - if you have no luck with Joan's suggestion, try this.

Open your own tree, then on your grandfather's box click on tree matches (if there are any), then scroll down looking for a tree owner called Thomas with matching name and birth place details for Robert William Dale. If successful, clicking on the box at the right hand end of the row will give you the tree owner's surname. If it's Dale, then at least you know that he is still a member of GR and you can send a message.

Good luck!

My mothers side of the family originate from Congleton, but apart from birth dates I have very little information. could this be the same family:
Robert b.1781 living in Congleton; Robert b.1816 in Congleton, John b.1842 in Congleton, Robert b.1868 in Liverpool, and my grandfather Robert William b.1897 in Liverpool.
Robert (1781) was a farmer and married Rebecca, his son Robert (1816) was a gardener and in 1837 he married Sarah Stockley in Prestbury, they had five children, one being John (1842). John was born in Congleton, he was an Engine Driver, he married Sarah, the family moved to Liverpool and they had five children. One of those children was Robert (1868) and he married Florence Ogden and they had five children. My grandfather Robert William (1897), was one of those children, and in July 1919, he married Olive Morris in Hindley Green, Lancashire. They had two daughters and my mother Edith Dale was one of them.

Hi Thomas A big mystery this. I have used the decoder and searched for Enoch, Robert and William. I have found Enoch and William living together aged 40 and 15 it says they were born in Biddulph and Rushton, but living in Buglawton which I believe is near to Congleton. Therefore is Robert the one born in Wolstanton and now living in Durham? John

There's a Robert William Dale on the 1881 census. Born 1880 Ugthorpe York to John Dale a farmer of 90 acres and Mary Ann. Do you think this might be him? May
