For anyone looking for a marriage in Lancashire I recommend LancashireBMD. I found the link on the Manchester and Lancashire Family History Society website and successfully found three marriages. I sent for two of the certificates. Not much luck with the births though and there are no deaths there yet. Melanie

Thank you very much Deborah, Crista and Roger. Roger that looks like the right one thank you. I will send for the marriage certificate. I wouldn't have got as far as I have without all you kind people. I haven't been researching very long so am not much help to others but I am doing some transcribing to help a bit. Thanks again. May

I have the birth certificate now of my g.grandfather Joseph Worthington born 12 May 1848 on which it states father John Worthington Sneyd Street Tunstall, mother Ann Worthington formerly Jones. I cannot find their marriage on IGI. I don't know the date but presume within a few years of 1848. I would like to send for their marriage certificate to see who their fathers were. It is getting rather expensive for little oldies on pension. I have already paid for 4 certificates. I don't want to send for the wrong one as they still charge £4.50 for the search. Oh sorry this does sound like a bit of a moan. Don't mean it to as I am really enjoying researching the family tree. Can anyone tell me where to look. May
