Linda I don't know is this is any use, but the hugh wallis site shows a parish called South Croxton in Leicestershire, and another one called South Kilworth? Regards Sally, Coventry

Thats true Beryl - its just in the tip at the south of the county

Linda It could be Sorrel as in Mountsorrel but there isn't a south to it. I live in Leicestershire and there isn't a Sowell or a Sewell. John

I have an ancestor on the 1851 census who seems to have been born in a place that looks like South Sowell or Sewell in Leicestershire around 1810, I have tried every site I can think of but can't find a place name that resembles it,any ideas? Lyn
