Margaret. Thought when i read this that it is a bit of an usual name might be connected anyway Beryl and Pauline one of them had two driffent colour eyes one Blue and one Violet really driffent.Do you want area etc? Mary. |

Hi Margaret, I have twins in my family and they were registered in the normal way there is nothing specific i.e. written on it "Twins" on the birth cert I have for one of the twins however the time is noted in the colomn when and where born. They are entered on the same page in the records. I assume multiple births would also be the same. Zoë |

Margaret Found the following birth reg. in Darlington library. March quarter 1892 Albert Edward W.Ham 4a 317 Sydney James W.Ham 4a 317 The fiche was horrendous to read even with my glasses on - could have done with a magnifying glass too! I have a couple of certificates with a time of birth. Someone on this site a while ago said that this was sometimes just a whim of the registrar and didn't actually indicate twins. Any further thoughts on this? |

Alas Kat - couldn't find even the correct birth on free bmd - and it's still not there. Eventually found him via 1837 - and got his Cert, and the time gave me the clue that he was a twin. I don't think his twin can have lived - but it would be nice to know! |

Have you tried searching FreeBMD and looking to see if there is an infant death in the same year and quarter for that surname as there is the correct birth? They have quite a few uploaded records now. -Kat |

If one of the twins was stillborn - would that be entered somewhere else? My gg father has a time on his birth Cert. indicating a twin - but there isn't an entry for the twin in 1837 online - unless it's one of the so sad male/female unnamed births listed after the bulk. |
