Sorry to be a nuisance but has anyone got access to the census for hampshire on dates other than 1881, 1891 or 1901? I ave ME and so just don't have the energy to go to the library and troll through microfilm and wondered if there is anyone who has it on disk that could do a lookup for me? Thank you for your time, -Kat

Well 1871 is the census that I am really after, but anytime other than the 81, 91 and 01 censuses really. In hampshire it if Portsmouth and Southsea (used to be Portsea) that interests me most. All my relatives have been in this area for years! Best Wishes, -Kat

G'day Kat, All my rellies come from around that area. If you find you are related to any Carter's, Cull's or Hoar's, send me an email!!!. Jenny - Australia

Hi Kat! Lots of my rellies are also from this area - I am researching the names Abraham, Burghard, Bushnell, Dominey, Florance, Holliday and Pearson from this area - the 1861 and 1871 censuses can be hard to get hold of. I am sure Eileen can help you, she's helped me a lot :-)

Me too! If anyone has the 1851 census for Portsmouth I should so much appreciate a look-up of Joseph Parnell (born 1821 Deptford, Middlesex) and his wife Elizabeth (born 1823 Portsmouth). Address and children? In hope, but not very hopeful, many thanks!

Eileen Jesse was in the R Marines. If Sarah is listed on her own there should be children Richard, Elizabeth, Matilda and Margaret (may be more). Many thanks Ann Glos

Eileen Yes this is the family. It would be great if you could look them up. If you do would you mind emailing me the result as I have two holidays coming up and might miss the message on the board. I think Richard Cox married Margaret Grady but have no proof. Jessie Cox married Sarah Little, daughter of John Little but I and my cousins have been unable to track him down with a marriage/birth or death. All as far as I know in Portsea. Very many thanks ann Glos
