Thanx Jacky. Now having fun trying to trace another family member. Can find them but it has no census registration area detailed. So hit a brick wall there I think. Sarah.

Until now the way I have checked the probability of people being in the same household and thereby related, is by right clicking on the name in the list, click properties and this brings up ID numbers. I have double checked by paying and going into the census entries. Jacky

Sarah John is not correct. The decoder is really useful if you have found just 1 person and you want to find others with consecutive Person ID numbers who will be family memebers. I found Williams probable parents James age 26 and Ellen age 26 like this. In person search enter William's details, name, sex, age and West Ham in Keywords. Press search, then Show Results. You will now have William with his Page ID and Person ID. Go back to Person search, enter just surname, male, and West Ham in Keywords, then search, then Show Results. Click on the arrow on the Group By button and select Person ID and the list will sort itself and James will appear with William (and Wm will be there twice because you've searched for all males) Repeat the process for females. This isn't half as complicated as is sounds and after doing it a few times, it's really easy. Have a go! Sue

Think I will just pay to find details. Thank you for your advice.

Sarah the idea of the decoder is to confirm you have the right person you are searching for. To do this you must have at least 2 names to input. If you would like to give another name/details then I or someone would look for you.

Any info on William Butcher aged 2 b1899 West Ham. Got decoder but new to this and don't understand how to bring up others in household.
