Hi Margaret, I have joined a couple of Irish sites so while I'm looking for my own I might as well keep my eye out for other people. The only problem with Ireland is it does depend on the area in question as some areas have loads of info and others have none. Laurie

Hi Margaret I did get a lot of info on the scottish people site it was very good but i cant seem to get anything about before they came to Scotland. I got a lot about their children and was able to find them on the census for 1891 and 1901 but on the census it says that they came from Ireland and that is basically what family had already told me , although on the census it doesnt say were but i had been told it was Dungannon Co Tyrone I seem to be getting nowhere with these two

I have the 1881 Scottish Census if they were here then? I will be happy to look them up if you send me the details. I also suggest that you try scotlandspeople(.)gov(.)uk for any births or deaths in the family while in Scotland. Sorry if I am telling you info that you probably already know as I know that your query is about Ireland... Regards Margaret

I am very new to this but i have managed to get back to my Great Grandparents, who i believed moved to Greenock Scotland from Dungannon Co Tyrone in Ireland . I believe they were married in Ireland as they moved over here with 2 of their children
