I think I have come across that village name in the Swansea area too, there are likely to be a number of places with the same name in Wales |

There are 2 villages called Llansadwrn in Wales. Therese gives Anglesey and the one that Valerie refers to is probably the one between Llandeilo and Llandovery in Carmarthenshire, although not really near to Swansea. "Sadwrn" is welsh for Saturday. "Llan" is the welsh for a parish or village. John |

Roger, suspecting you might be welsh (!), I have ancestors from Blaina(Mon) and have been wondering if this is pronounced "Blay-na" or "Bligh-na". What would you think? Marian |

No i'm not Welsh but lived there for a while. The Welsh language is phonetic and the vowels (the English ones anyway) are pronounced as you would teach a young child to spell. Another pronunciation tip is to put the stress on the second to last syllable. Good luck Roger |
