are divorces recorded anywhere?

Try www.nationalarchivist.com. It has a section titled Indexto Divorce and Matrimonial Causes 1858-1903. I haven't tried it myself but it could prove useful. Jeanette

further to June's earlier message asking why someone might change their surname - does anyone know if there are searchable records for divorces? Might solve a few of my problems trying to trace females in my family - one of them seems to have used 5 surnames!
