Francis Hudson married Mary Dyer in Edgbaston, Birmingham , 21/7/1806, but I cannot find a birth or baptism record for him on the IGI. In the parish register, a Joseph Hudson married Lucy Hawksford, and Francis was a witness....so I assume Francis and Joseph were brothers or cousins.........no IGI birth/baptism record for Joseph either. Can anyone suggest how I might search?

Joan As the IGI is not complete the best place is the main library. They should have the Parish Records of the church you have found on the IGI. Sorry I don't know where you live so this may not be possible. You could try asking for a look-up on this site. Good luck Vera Manchester

Vera Many thanks for that idea. I was fixed on thinking he came from somewhere outside Birmingham rather than the parish where he was married. Next time I go to Birmingham I'll search the Edgbaston baptism records. Joan

Anna, Thanks for that website....I didn't know it and it looks useful. Unfortunately the record I am looking for just now is before 1837. Joan
