Tina I can't believe that none of your ancestors are on FreeBMD. ...that would be just too unlucky. I don't know which part of the country you are in, but as an example, my lot are in Liverpool, but Liverpool had 3 registration districts so if I just put in Liverpool, a marriage registered in West Derby or Toxteth wouldn't come up. If I just go with the county list and put in Lancashire, I will get all 3 but also everywhere else in Lancs...this is OK if not a common name. So I always select all 3 districts by holding down the Ctrl key while clicking the mouse. Give us a couple of marriage details that you can't find and we'll have a go for you. Sue

i think its a great site too, even though its never found any of the names i type in any tips you can give me i might be doing something wrong. thanking you tinaxx

Thanks, Sasheen. As a trancriber, it is great to hear stories like yours. I too have managed to track down quite a few certificates and thought that I would put something back by becoming a transcriber. Hope it continues to give you the link to your past. Regards, Nesta
