Jacqui The decoder system is quite easy to use. Lets see if its easy to explain. Click on decoder.Click on show browser.Do your name search for all parties that you think are together and click on PROCESS RESULTS for every page of results. When finished click on SHOW RESULTS then click on GROUP BY that will put the people living in the same house.When you think you have found them then do a look up. Tricia

Hi, I bought some vouchers from my local familyhistory society (£10.00 worth) and I had a great deal of difficulty in inputting the voucher numbers initially. However, I soon got into the swing of things and then low and behold - out of credits!! - I think it's best to plan as precisely as possible who you want to view and then get your money's worth - I got carried away with it and ended up with a lot of useless information. I just wish I could understand the Decoder system - am I thick or what? Don't anwser that! jacqui

Thanks for your replies.I have downloaded the decoder but as there is only one name it is not going to give me any info. It seems that vouchers are the best bet and I will get some but I would appreciate it if either Hazel or David would look up this one for me. The name is George Carter age 68. born in Cheltenham. Why not visit Lancslist.com and download the 1901 decoder software that they kindly provide free. You can then search to your hearts content - free and for nothing, hows that grab ya! Then when you think you have found what you are looking for, zero in on it and pay for it. Good hunting! Alan K.

The vouchers last until you run out of credit and work out cheaper in the long run

Personal choice, I think, depending how you feel about using your credit card over the Net. Trouble is, with credit card payments, your unused credits expire after 48 hours. Don't know whether this applies to vouchers. If you have only one look-up to do, then one of us will be happy to do it for you.

I use vouchers that I buy from my local library. If you use a credit card there is an automatic £5 charge ( I think) A voucher costs me £5. Can I help? Sally
