Hi May, Are you aware that scotlandspeople will only have BMD certificates from 1855? That is when is was made compulsory to register such events in Scotland. You would need to have a look at the parish register for Perth. You might find a lead to the parents names on that. It would also tell you which parish the bride and groom were from. I'm sue that you are aware that any records that you find on LDS need to be confirmed by another source as there are numerous errors and it is also not complete. thats a pity may. dont really know where else you could try. i have moved my search from scotland to ireland now. is very difficult, im sure someone will be able to advise you regards ,jackie.

Thanks Jacqueline, I might do that. It gets a bit expensive doesn't it. I have already paid for 3 certificates for other names. As a matter of interest, why does my name come up in black and everyone else's red?

hi may you could try www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk . you could get copy of marriage cert for fathers name, but it would cost you money.

I have a Thomas Robert Rochfort married to a Jane Renwick 08 DEC 1849 Logierait, Perth, Scotland, but I can't find Thomas's birth. I found Jane's but not Thomas's. I am trying to find the name of his father. Have tried LDS but no luck.
