At 47 Bridge Street we have: William Sutcliffe, head, 54, coach driver (annotated over in pencil "groom"), born Rochdale; Esther Sutcliffe, wife, 51, born Knutsford. This confirms your information. Best wishes, Stan Driver

I don't know if this is the same Mary Sutcliffe, but William Sutcliffe and Mary Sutcliffe, both aged 69, lived at 13 Hesketh Street in 1891, both caretakers of a church, both born in Manchester. There were three other Mary Sutcliffe's, but none of the others is old enough to be a mother of a 28-year-old.

There are three Thomas Taylors with wife Mary in Chorlton-on-Medlock in 1891. The most likely, with wife Mary E Taylor, is at 63 Bridge Street: Thomas Taylor, 34, Packing-case maker, born Lancs, Manchester; Mary E Taylor, 28, born Cheshire, Knutsford; Maud S Taylor, 5, born Lancs, Manchester; Thomas W Taylor, 3, born Lancs, Manchester; John Taylor, 10 months, born Lancs, Manchester. I hope this may be the person you seek.
