Thank you very much Jennifer I do have a marriage certificate for Thomas Skeer my grandfather which says that his father was also called Thomas a wood carver. It does look as though it is not the same family but i will print the details off and keep them just in case. I will also look up the name skeet - it may have been spelt wrong. Thank you again You would think he was easy to find in the 1929 directory he changed his name to kennthe scott skeer I cannot even find him on the 1901 census although there is a thomas skeers who could be him Thanks again Roseanne
