Hi Maxine Had a look at the site you suggested and found just what I was looking for. I now know that the farm was in the Eaton name in 1874 which is more than I knew this morning. It still needs further invesigation but I am much better off with regards to info now. Many thanks to all who helped. Karen Birmingham

The Land Registry would have these details although not sure that they will release them without permission of current owners. All properties in this country now have to be registered -trouble is when first doing so only have to go back 15 years so may not have the really old deeds. these will be with whoever is holding the deeds for the new owners (ie mortgagee) cant think of anywhere else they might have a record - planning dept of council maybe? hevi

Hi Karen Sorry I don't know how to find out about the deeds for the farm. but, if you type genealogy document resources into search then scroll down to library of Trade and Local directories you find a wonderful selection of historical directories that you can search through. I have found info on Derbyshire villages that was very useful to me. Shirley Shirley

Part of the family that I am researching once owned a farm in Repton, Derbyshire. I think that the farm is still in existance but its purpose has now changed (tea rooms etc) The current owners know nothing of its history (have asked them) and I was wondering where to look for paperwork that would tell me who owned the property previously.
