You could try this - http://www(.)workhouses(.)org(.)uk/ I haven't used the site that extensively but it may give you some leads at least.

I am having trouble finding people on the 1901 census and wonder if they could be in "The Workhouse" at the time. The only problem is that you seem to need to know the namw of the workhouse before you can search. Does anyone know of a list of workhouses with addresses please? Roger
