	I'd suggest accessing the 1871 census for Kentish town and 1861 census for Gravesend to find who was in the households. It could be that the children were illegitimate and she made up the names. I'd also suggest seeking the marriage cert of Georgiana to the father of Rose Hill, it will tell you whether she was a widow or not. George

Member Since: January 0001 Posts: 0 Send Message	I have been looking for my GG Grandfather in the 1881 census and found him as Richard Chanter aged 19(should be Chantler) His brother was John Alfred Chantler aged 23. I have been unable to find Richards Birth cert states him being born in Kentish Town, so I went for his brother John who was born in Gravesend and it states his parents as John Chantler and Georgiana Hall - this I presume was Richards parents - not the case. On Richard's marriage cert St Pancras it states his father as Peter Macgregor Chantler pianoforte tuner. I have tried every which way to find this Peter MacGregor Chantler to no avail - any suggestions would be really appreciated. Many thanks Linda
