Hello Marion Again Found in 1881 a Catherine Roast aged 26 born Ireland married to Thomas Roast born Essex - Soldier living at 11 Hill St Woolwich. In 1901 they were living at Plumstead - any help? Or there is a John Roast born in Ireland married to Margaret also born in Ireland in 1901 they were living in Kirkdale. Linda

My great grandmother came from Eire, her name was Roast, and she could neither read nor write English, she came from Sligo (town or county?I don't know), how would I find out about her. I know nothing apart from her name,and her daughter - my grandmother Alice Ellen Roast.
