im trying to trace edward machin. he was born around 1894, ecclesall, yorkshire. i have found him on 1901 living with joseph guire (head of house & uncle) & teresa guire(aunt). but cant find any match for him in 1881, cant even trace the guire's,please help.

kerry you wont find a amatch for him in 1881 as he was born after that, the only one he will be on is the 1901 census, theres a Edward Machin born 1894, ecclesall, bierlow, sep qtr 9c 393 Christine

Kerry, I don't know if this helps, but I have found a Machin family in Ecclesall in the Sheffield 1851 census: Z/11/150/ELDAR ST/COURT/ HENRY/MACHIN/HEAD/MAR/35//FILE HARDENER/YKS/SHEFFIELD/ MARY ANN/MACHIN/D/U//11/SCHOLAR/YKS/SHEFFIELD/ ELIZABETH/MACHIN/D/U//9/SCHOLAR/YKS/SHEFFIELD/ HY JAMES/MACHIN/SON/U/6//SCHOLAR/YKS/SHEFFIELD/ MARTHA JANE/MACHIN/D/U//.917/SCHOLAR/YKS/SHEFFIELD/ No 'Guires' though. 'Henry James' a possible father of your Machin? Marian
