There seems to be only one Clara Sheppard that fits your criteria - I've tried spelling variations on Sheppard; Clara Sheppard, aged 42, born Middlesex Hampstead. She's appears to be an 'Honorary Assistant' at a place called "The Preventive Home", Royal Fort Road, Bristol. There are several children of varying ages living there, so it could be a boarding school although the name suggests some kind of young offenders place! Does this seem remotely relevant at all? Andy, thank you very much for taking the trouble to look up for me. Seems a bit unlikely, she was a 34 year old draper in 1881, but definitely worth investigating particularly given the interesting sounding location! Many thanks.
