Karen Yes it is annoying when you are not contacting someone about your tree. but just a message from the tips board. But the strange thing is that there is an awful lot of people that I have contacted from the tips board, that have the same surnames in my tree. perhaps I should start asking everybody what names they have. Hi Debbie I have had the same. It appears that if you contact someone or they contact you the word contacted comes up against all the people that they have in their tree and against new names that they add. Deleting the contact from your list does not however remove "contacted" from beside the names they have in their tree and when they add any new ones it still puts "contacted" next to the name. I have also noticed that if I contact someone with regard to a message on the tips board and not about an individual the same thing happens which is frustrating. It would be nice to be able to delete contacts and have the word "contacted" removed from beside the names that the person has in their tree. I think this way it would make it easier to keep track of the people who you emailed because there was a connection rather than those who you just replied to via the tips board to help. Karen |

Vivien I was going to contact her. but ive just remembered as I right this, there was a woman that emailed me about something, cant remember what, but its the same name, so obliously when you delete a contact it stays on the searching boards. When I clicked on my new names today there was alot added which said that I had contacted, have checked contacts list but the name does not match with any. Do you think it could have been a while back that has been deleted from the contact list, but the contact name stays there. hope you understand this. If anyone can shed some light on this would be helpful. Debbie |
