Access to Essex census 1861 or 1871?

Impossible to trace Thomas Tanner born Dagenham around 1850/52. Not registered on 1837 (have tried 1849-54), appears 1881 but not on 1901 census. All I know is that his father was Matthew. Wonderered if anyone had access to an earlier census. Feeling desperate with this particular relative!

Do you know who he married? George

Yes...but that's another question mark, as I'm almost sure it was Louisa Hurrell although on the marriage certificate it says Harrold. And although she was a widow at the time she hasn't stated her married name. So frustrating....
