Hallo. I've recently received a Marriage Certificate for my gg gfather in 1843. I have been struggling to read the father in laws occupation, but the more I try the more it looks like 'comedian'. So how can I find out more about Charles Wilson Baker, Comedian? I suppose he would have been born around 1800. But come on - what else can 'comedian' be? Help, please! Rosi Colchester ESS |

Hi Rosi If he was a entertainer you should contact the Theatre Museum in Covent Garden - tmenquiries (at) vam (dot) ac (dot) uk. The at sign comes before vam. Some of my ancestors were actors, and they have sent me a wealth of facinating infomation, all for free. Just e-mail his details to them and they will reply very quickly. Good luck. |

Suzanne - thankyou - I will certainly write to them. Hazel. He was living, and was born (I think) in London, and it really does look like a 'd' in the middle. But 'cornmiller' again the 'd' belies this. The marriage took place at St Clement Danes, then in Middlesex. Thankyou both - Rosi |
