hiya my grandma was adopted and she found out that her real mum was actualy her aunt (who is now deceased) but she hasnt got a clue who her dad is. On the birth certificate it just has her mums name. she was baptized do you think that might have her dads name too? or will it just have her mums. If there is anyway of finding out I would love to hear. thanks

Hi Martin, My Gr. Gr. Grandfather was illegitimate and his father was not mentioned on the birth certificate or on the baptism either. I would suggest it is still worth having a gander at the baptism record...you never know. The IGI was the success in finding the father for mine...perhaps this might help you too. Good Luck Ali
