How can i be sure the birth certs I order are for the person Im looking for? or do I just have to take a chance.I have marriage cert for g grandfather(John Godfrey) it gives his age and fathers name(also John),have found a possible birth entry for him but not really certain if its him.I cant check parish entrys of marriage as its Liverpool and I live in Hants any ideas? Kathleen Contact Liverpool Register Office and give them all the details you have. They will then check the records and if they find a match they will send you the certificate. Lynne |

have taken a chance and ordered both g grandfathers birth certs,one I am positive about second one still not too sure will just have to wait and see.thanks for all your tips and comments Kathleen |

You can only be certain when you have brought together as many of the pieces of the jigsaw as possible and found no mis-matches. E.g. your subject's birth certificate and marriage certificate, parents' marriage certificate, do ages and geographical locations agree, do censuses make sense, etc, etc? |
