Member Since: May 2003 Posts: 193 Send Message	If you dont want to shell out for the certificate for relatively recent events and its local to you, the hatches, matches and despatches columns of the local paper is a good way of getting dates and other details, some local newspapers do have an archive on line or most local history libraries will have back copies. Member Since: April 2003 Posts: 2,483 Send Message	You won't find the exact date online, the only way you can do it is to find the death record on either FreeBMD or 1837 and apply for the certificate to the register office, giving the reference. Lynne
