1861 Durham Census

Hi Could anyone with the above look for John & Isabella Thompson, living in Middleton in Teesdale. Both were born Alston. Thank you George

Hi George Is there another place where John and Isabella could have been living in 1861.I have looked in Middleton but can't find them. Chris

I've no idea then as according to the 1881 census they had a daughter Isabel listed as being born in 1861 in Middleton in Teesdale and their second daughter was born 1863 in Middleton so they have to be there somewhere. Here they are in 1881: Isabel THOMPSON Head W Female 54 Alston, Cumberland, England Scripture Reader Isabel THOMPSON Daur U Female 20 Middleton In Teesdale, Durham, England In The Boot & Shoe Trade Polly THOMPSON Daur U Female 18 Middleton In Teesdale, Durham, England Waitress In Cocoa Palace -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Source Information: Dwelling 30 North Road Census Place Darlington, Durham, England George

George I've had another look but still can't see them.The only Isabella I can find with a John Thompson is-Isabella A Walton age 19 general servant and John is 65 and living with his wife Bessie and son William.I will check again tho, you never know 3rd time lucky Chris

Isabella would have been 35 at the time. Her husband John was around about the same age. His occupation was a miner I believe. George

George I am so sorry,ever felt like an idiot not as much as I do now.It's no wonder I can't find John and Isabella I was looking in the 1891 census.I have got the 1861 census on order so as soon as it arrives I will do the look up for you.Sorry again Chris
