Converting from euros

Hi, Is there anyone who understands euros? I'm trying to work out how much 24.34 euros is in sterling. Laurie

As a rule of thumb, at the present exchange rate 1 euro is worth 70p. £1 is worth 1.40 euros.

I live in Austria and so I use Euros as that is the currency here. It's probably not the quickest or easiest way to convert from Euros to Pounds but what I do is Euro x 2, divide by 3. E.g 30 Euros x 2 = 60 Euros, divide by 3 = 20 GBP. Not necessarily the best way cos 3 is a hard number to divide by most of the time but... it's close enough for what I need! Hope this helps.
