Anyone with Interest in Liverpool

The majority of my ancestors are from Liverpool so it would seem. What I thought would be useful to me is to make contact with any other people researching Liverpool and maybe we could do look ups for each other and pool resources. If we know who has access to what info then we know who we can go to when we need something. For example. I have access to 1891 census and also Kelly's directory for 1929 and can do look ups on those. Maybe we could even do something like purchase all the lancashire census records on CD between us? Also, we can e-mail each other when new resources for the area are found. Anyone interested?

Hi Laura, Just in case you are not already aware of it, there is a Liverpool Family History Society details of which can be found on www.liverpool-genealogy.org.uk. They have a reduced rate subscription for those who live too far away to attend meetings. Paul (Cheltenham)

Hi there, If anyone else is interested then just click on my name and drop me an e-mail. Then I will have your e-mail address and can mail you every time anyone acquires a new set of census records or is off to do look ups at the library or FRC or churches/Cemetaries etc. If you can include details of any records you have access to and also surnames you are researching or particular areas of Liverpool then if anything comes up I know which person to pass it onto. I have the 1891 census on CD at the moment (kindly lent by another GC member). Better than the ancestry version as you can browse through areas rather than only having a surname index. I also have a 1929 Kelly's directory. And I am finally hoping to make it to the Liverpool Central Library on August 9th where I believe they have census records. So let me know if you need look ups!

By the way Paul I can't look at the suggested website here at work. I get a pop up telling me that particular site is banned because it contains partial/artistic/full nudity!!!!!!!! A bit worrying. Mind you, my local tennis club site is banned too and I can only assume they've made a mistake as I can't spot anything interesting on there!

Hello, I've got to admit that I've not been looking at this site very much as I ended up in hospital so was overwhelmed by all the e-mails I had this morning. Am now better and with more time on my hands, and soon to be even more time as I'm pregnant and intend to give up work for a bit. I shall dig out my Kellys directory and am willing to do look ups on ancesry for anyone who wishes. It may take me a couple of days to get through it all but will reply to anyone who has mailed me as soon as possible. If there's any particular resource you wish to search then let me know in case I have contact details for anyone with access.
