$20 U.S. lookup at South Africa Archives?

Hi, in Canada looking for rellies in South Africa (all of us from Hastings/St. Leonard's Sussex originally) new at this and have been asked to send $20 U.S. to this address in South Africa to do 2 lookups at archives, does this make sense to anyone, please? thanks

Im sorry I cannot answer your question, but id be a bit careful, I dont know if $20 is alot, but a while back there were people warning about emails they were recieveing to send money, just be careful please. Debbie

Not sure about sending dollars to a site in South Africa, many shady deals go on there. I found some South African sites through my search engine, I will try and find my list (somewhere around) and let you know. I have also found some relatives on IGI using Africa/South Africa as search area. Good Luck Tracy

Try www(.)geneology(.)co(.)za this will give you Heathers South African Geneology Help list with lots of links including passenger ship lists to South Africa in the late 1800 and early 1900s Tracy Ps if you find any good sites please let me know.
