You need to say which part of the country - several counties are available on CD-ROM now. Do you have an address or just a name? I have Lancashire 1861 on CD-ROM but it is only indexed by places and streets so not practical to find by just the name. MB

Martin would it be possible for you to look at address in Liverpool please,Im looking for the Godfrey family at 14 Pall Mall, and Caton family same road but have no number.Thanks in anticapation Kathleen

There is someone at 40 Pall Mall with name Miles Ca?ton - not sure or the third letter. I thought it might be Carter but first two are almost certainly "Ca" then ending is again almost certainly "ton". Age 34, Porter born in Ireland. Wife is Ann age 38 I will have a further look tonight, off to work now. Martin

Cheers Martin, on my g granparents marriage cert it says Annie Caton 17 bride, father John Caton (marine store dealer} address Pall Mall, Groom John Godfrey 20,(Carter) father John Godfrey (Cart owner)add 14 pall Mall I have found out Godfreys are an old haulage firm many brothers,have found entrys in Gores 1828 directory and traded until outbreak of WW2Many Thanks Kathleen ps on m cert is a Michael Caton witness & have always been told they were Irish

Aaah well im not too sure but as long as the family didnt move after the birth then its Hertfordshire one George Thresher born 1856. Is 1861 availble on line? Regards Donna
