I am sure someone posted a website or postal address for somewhere that you can find out about rail accidents. If so I would love some info! I am trying to find some info for my best friend whose great grandfather had his head chopped off by a train in Staffordshire (nearly as unlucky as my Great gran who was run over by a car in 1934 - quite an achievement ! but that's another story!) I would love to find some more info for her. Thanks Maxine

Maxine, Railway Inspectors reports on fatal railway accidents are held at the Public Record Office in Kew in series MT 29 and MT 30. (Info from The Family & Local History Handbook). Sometimes accidents were covered by local newspaper reports too. Hope this helps a bit. Beryl, Darlington DUR
