Member Since: May 2003 Posts: 123 Send Message	Martin - you've just asked one HUGE fundamental question but I'll try a simple answer. If your record office has given you details of births then the parents names should also be there too. So look for their marriage and their parents details if that's possible. The difficulty is that weddings in general took place in the home parish of the wife and they may have had children elsewhere. It is a long painful process, but I would recommend you try the 1901 and 1881 censuses. These will give you both confirmation of the household and also places of birth which will help you go back another generation either in your record office or another. Don't forget the IGI which is a huge resource waiting to be tapped also, as well as various messageboards for most of the counties on the web. Graham

But how do you find out more about them. I am good at finding when they got married, baptised, died etc... but how do you find out more. thanx
