Hevi Many thanks. Unfortunately I don't think either of these fits the bill though. Ernest was illegitimate and I have been told by relatives that he was abandoned as a baby. I have his birth certificate with the address where he was born in 1888. Would it be possible to do another search for 18 Dagger Lane, Hull in case he was still there and the rumour is wrong!! I am desperate to get another lead on this branch and greatly appreciate your help.

Would someone be kind enough to do a lookup for me on the 1891 Hull Census. I am looking for Ernest Johnson aged 3, born in Hull. I have found him on the 1901 in the Hull Workhouse and would be interested to know if he was there in 1891. I would also like to know if there were any female Johnsons with him who were of the right age to have been his mother. Many thanks. Yvonne
