Unless they have access to your tree, the information they can get is the name, place and year of birth by doing a search. If they have access to your tree, they could quite easily copy all the info you have entered about this person - but where is the point if they have access to your tree? They may aswell just look at your tree rather than enter all the info into theirs. I think that if you contact someone, it will then come up as "contacted" by all people in that person's tree, even though you only contacted them with regard to one person. The family are all entered by one person, and you have contacted that one person. Hope you can follow that and that it helps you. If not, just post a "?" and I will try again!! Or someone will put it into order and explain it properly!!

At the risk of lighting the blue touch paper and setting off a big argument, how do you know when someone has just copied your information or done their own research. If I am sent an email regarding a relly, all the people's names I have entered have contacted by them. This still stays even when I have deleted the contact and every subsequent name I enter also has contacted by it. If other members of my family are also researching they will surely come up with the same information as me. So how do I know that the information they enter is what they have researched and not just copied mine from all the names that are highlighted "Contacted" Karen
