So sorry Vera. i must admit to writing your name off the top of my head. By the way it's COLETTE not COLLETTE! to cap it all my middle name is Rosemarie-not Rosemary, and my maiden name was Pearse, not Pearce/Pierce. I married a Rogers-thought that one was easy-oh no most people spell it Rodgers. So, I DO know how you feel. I do apologise once again-and thanks again also for the decoder exercise via Ann (no 'e')

Collette This shows the problems we have with this hobby - our surname is now BROMAGE and over the decades it has been Bromwich, Brommage, Bramage, Bromidge, Brimmage, Bromwitch,Bromich and all in between. Thanks for the compliment. Vera BROMAGE Manchester, LAN

Kathleen, Your a gem! I'm only just starting out with this, so have copied it onto the back of my "exercise" for the 1901 decoder forarded to me, very kindly, by Ann Lazenby via Vera Brummage.

Could I ask a small question (which may have been covered before) but - can anyone tell me the actual dates that censuses were taken? Richard Chippenham
