Gerald, I take it your father's dead otherwise you would be asking him? How did you find out that he was sued for non-payment of child support? Maybe there's some paper trail with solicitors that might contain her mothers name? I'd still try www.1837online(.)com though. There's a chance she might have your father's surname. Crista

Gerald This is probably a long shot but my local newspaper has a column called Tracer which is published weekly. Have a look online at Leeds newspapers and see if any carry trying to find so and so messages. You might only have limited info but what you do know may yield some sort of response if the mother and child have remained in the Leeds area. Beryl Darlington DUR

Any idea at all of her mother's surname? More likely to be registered in mother's name-father unknown.

Gerald You could try 1837online and look for her under your father's surname. There's a chance she might have been registered under that name. Crista

How can i try to trace my half sister who was born in March 1965 in Leeds ? She was practically abandoned by my father at birth and probably did not take his surname so i have no idea of her surname or in fact, her Christian name !! The only thing i have to go on is her mother summoned my father for non-payment of maintenance in the early sixties.
