How is it possible to find out if an IGI is correct? I have a Gt Grandad born 1830(c) there are the same names for 4 other same surnames,which I doubt, and the likely one says he died age 6 Is it possible a transcriber got it wrong? JOAN

Thanks Rosalyn It was on the LDS IGI that I found the record, so can anyone tell me where I can write to, for 1829 Parish Records for St Alkmund Derby please,or is there a site on the internet, as I live too far away JOAN

Not everything on IGI is transcribed from a parish register, but if it gives full dates for the christening and the death, then the odds are it's the wrong person. Name coincidences are common, as people were very unimaginative with Christian names then

Thank you Robin So If My Christening says 25th Oct 1829 and underneath Death 21st May 1836 You say it may not be possible ? As I have spent 4yrs researching the above person JOAN
