hi, im new to this. i may sound a bit thick but can someone breifly explain how i register with gedcom, please

you don't register, it is a file name. If you have a family tree programme, you save it in gedcom format, then you can transfer it on GC rather than typing in all your relations onto the site direct. Kim

hi kim, thanks for that. so if i have already started my tree do i have to delete all my family members apart from my name first?

Yes, Just hit the delete tree option and then load your GEDCOM file. Does not take too long. I put up 1500 people in just a couple of minutes.

Sorry Julie, but I'm thicker than you. What is GEDCOM, how do you use it, and what benefits does it have over GC? Sorry again, but I'm new to this malarkey.
