Jim, I've just gone on to broadband and the box is separate and small. The man who came put in the cable etc was good and let my hubby help by letting him give a hand with the cable so we could run it thru the loft as our pc is upstairs. The main problem was installing it into pc even my Son who is whiz with pc's couldn't do it but the helpline was excellent and it's much quicker Hope this helps Ann, Darlington

Jim I got an offer today from Tiscalli, offering, free modem, free installation, plus tickets to florida, but BT were offering free installation + £80 for modem. Can't get broadband here, in the sticks! but maybe worth your while shopping around, to be honest, the amount of cups of tea & coffee I drink while watching this thing turn page you could save a fortune!! Hi Jim If you are with NTL you will be able to get broadband via you set top box without the need for a modem. Otherwise you have the option of either fitting one internally, or using an external. All are adequate solutions Badger Bill

Help me please one of you Computer Buffs. I have no built in modem in my computer. I have been told I won't need one for Broadband as there is an external modem that fits into the phone line. Is this correct? Jim, Gosport, HAM.
