I used the 1891 census on Ancestry, with the 14 day trial. I got quite a lot of information from the census, then cancelled the subscription by e-mail, with no problems. If I use Ancestry again in the future, I think that you can sign up for 3 months, which costs about £30, which I don't think is too bad. Maggy, Featherstone, West Yorkshire

Hi Susan Ancestry often do free trials - I think it would be well worth while to wait for one of them. In my opinion Ancestry, even the co.uk one, gives very little info that is not available, for free, elsewhere - like free bmd and familysearch. It is nice to have it for confirmation sometimes - but, its about £70. for a year is a lot to pay for confirmations. Money is probably better spent with 1837 Online. Hope this helps, Rosi. Try their UK site http://www.ancestry <co> <uk> They are putting 1891 Census records online and I think their target is to have all available censuses online. Beware you sign up with your credit card online but I believe you have to ring the US to cancel at the end of the trial period. They have no UK office or phone number that they admit to. I think at some point I will sign up as a search of census records might turn up some new information but I don't particularly want to support them. Martin

I am a little confused about the above site, there does seem to be a lot of American names on it, if I pay to join will it give me a lot more of our English relatives? can you please tell me how much it costs in sterling and is it one of the better sites to find information on Thank you From Sue.............
