I eventually got a birth certificate I didn't think I would as the person was known under 2 surnames, I was looking for Thomas Percy Eke and on the birth certificate he was Percy Fredrick Thomas Eke, so its true you must try every possibility! The problem now is his mother who we Thought was Sarah Eke single, is Sarah Eke married maiden name Smith, there is nor father on her birth certificate and her mother is asingle mother surname Eke? Help!!!!

Well that is why you get the documentation. If what you thought had been correct you woudn't need the certificate to give you more information, now you need to follow up the Eke-Smith marriage. Is there an address for the birth that you can look up at the nearest census date?
