1851 census

Would anyone know if there is an original document from which the 1851 census was transcribed which could be accessed? There seems to be a very suspect entry for my GGGrandfather's place of birth which includes the Number of the following house and looks like someone could have been missed out. It probably accounts for why I cannot find a birth for him.

Thanks for your response Debbie. I'm hopeful its a typing error, it seems to be on everyone's copy of the census. Will have to take a day off to visit Taunton one of these days! By the way for anyone looking for 1851 online census in the Gloucestershire area try www.mycensus(dot)com there is a free look up on names. Marion
