My father just let me look at the family bible again(Its from 1790 and very fragile) It has a entry for Sarah Deakin-Widow m Edward Simester 1896 Born 1837. I presume this is Sarah that is born in 1837 but I cant find the Deakin she was married to. It must have been my ancestor John's(born 1837) brother but I have tried all his brothers listed in the bible and there seem to be no record. Do you think she may have married Johns father? I cant find a death record for his mum and there is none in the bible.

Alison As the dates are pre 1837 you will have to look in the Parish Records. Try the IGI on Family Search (link at the left) Vera, Manchester

In that case you will be able to find them in the register indexes, assume a marriage about 20 and go back and forward five years. If you can find the date of the snd maarriage you can look back from that for the date of death of the first husband. Try FBMD
