I am still trying to find a Bertram Robert Fuller who was born in Suffolk in 1878. He was my mothers grandfather and no one has any details of him. On the 1901 census he lived in London and states born in Bury St Edmunds. I have tried Freebmd site and all the others I can think off and cannot get any leads. I have even sent an email to the Suffolk archives offering to pay for research and have received no reply. Can anybody suggest anywhere else to try. This leg of the family is proving a nightmare to get started. Steve.

Have you tried variations of his name. My Grandfather was Henry Frank - always known as Frank and his father was William Robert and at various times was Will, Robert and William. Bertram could be Bert, Bertie or perhaps he was recorded as Robert Fuller. It is worth a try, especially as you have a DoB. Why not do a broad search on familysearch.org and then check all the records for that name in London and the birth county. I found doing a broad search, just with my Surname and a county provided over 3000 results and i was then able to narrow these down to the relevant village and family. Hope this helps a little Good Luck Alison
