Thanks Jude, It never occured to me that they would pass through Ellis Island to leave the USA (Obvious now you point it out!). I'll go and have look now (her name was Jane Holland by the way) Thanks for your Help Maxine I just had a look Jude, but I can't find an yway to search for departures from New York, only arrivals. How did you do it?

I was wondering if some one could give me a few pointers on where to find my Great grandmother and her children, returning to the UK after her husbands death in the USA. She and her husband emmigrated separately (I have found them on the Ellis Island site passenger lists, and know the ships and dates), in 1892, moved to Yougestown Ohio, where my great grandfather, William Holland was a miner. Unfortunately he died in Typhus in 1900/1901, and the whole family came back. I would love to know the details of their return journey, as my Nan used to tell me about it when I was a child. Does anyone know how I could find out? I am really struggling with this branch of my tree, as my nan was born in Ohio, and the couthouse which held all the records burnt down, and half the family's records were lost!
