Brick Wall.

I have come up against that brick wall need your help. On the 1891 and 1901 census give place of birth for my gfather as aldershot 1873 and in brackets the word ( barracks ).My gg.grandfather hemel hempstead 1843.Sent for copies of birth certificates, came back no trace found,I have nothing on 1881 census tried free bmd olso 1837.I can find nothing before 1891.Can someone please help me to get through the brick wall ? Like an awful lot of people I am not clairvoyant so it would help if you (& everyone else reading this)gave the full details of what you want people to help you search for. Specifically - Name of the person/s, the area/s to look at and possibly the dates! I have the 1881 census on CDs and I can do advanced searches to find the elusive ones, but only if I have enough clues. I could have helped this afternoon as I had a few minutes to spare, but now I have to leave to do some more inputting for the FHS, sorry. I hope no-one takes this as being sarcastic - I am stating facts and this has been mentioned lots of times on the message boards. We can only help you if you give the full details to aid in a search. I take your point Vera,Here goes ,My grandfathers name .James William Seymour d.o.b 1873 Aldershot (barracks).My G grandfather William Seymour d o b 1843 Hemel Hempstead.That is all the info, i have.
